This guide explains all the materials used in the fabrication of our products. All the materials have been used within the piercing and jewelry industry for many years, clearly demonstrating their safety and biocompatibility.
Given to the fact that it very rarely produces adverse effect, the material we use the most in Bepapaia is surgical steel, 316L.
One of the most commonly used materials as it is durable, lightweight, easy to clean, rust resistant and least likely to cause an allergic reaction. Made up of Niobium and Titanium. You can find an extensive selection of surgical steel items in our online catalogue, especially in our basic range of products.
This is a conventional type of plastic which due to the UV element, glows in the dark. It’s comfortable, light and is available in a wide range of colours. The majority of balls used in all types of piercings, are made from this material.
Many Bepapaia piercings are made from surgical silicon. This material is highly recommended for people who are hypersensitive or prone to allergies. It is a very light and flexible material, mostly used in tunnels and stretchers.
This is a bio-sustainable plastic derived from renewable resources such as vegetable fats and oils, corn starch, potato starch and microbiota. This is an alternative to more common plastics which rely on petroleum and other fossil fuels.
As well as being environmentally friendly, it’s also flexible and comfortable with excellent biocompatibility.
This material is not commonly used for items which penetrate the skin with the exception of nose rings as there is very little contact (0.6mm). All of our sterling silver Bepapaia products have the quality assured stamp of .925.
Bepapaia has a wide selection of wooden and bone tunnels and stretchers. Both of these fashionable, organic materials are strong, durable and anti-allergic.
